Take Action – Take Part: Nigeria Veto the „Jail the Gays Bill“ (Heinz Leitner)

Nigeria’s Parliament recently passed a “Jail the Gays” bill, which has grave consequences for the country’s LGBT community. Couples could face ten years in prison for living together, and 14 years for trying to get married.

It now goes to President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria to either veto or sign into legislation.

Nigeria’s LGBT community already endures widespread discrimination. If the bill passes, Nigeria would have one of the harshest anti-gay laws in the world.

This is urgent: All Nigerians deserve the freedom to love who they want. Tell President Jonathan to veto this homophobic bill immediately
