Protect Freedom of Speech & Keep Mumia on the Air (Heinz Leitner)

Dear Friends,

I want to tell you the good news: We won the right to a trial on the constitutionality of the “Mumia Gag Law”!

This trial is a milestone- it will stop the Fraternal Order of Police in their tracks. The First Amendment to the US Constitution is only meaningful if we continue to use it and defend it: that is Prison Radio’s mission.

We’ll be in court tomorrow:

Monday, March 30th at 10:00am
US Federal Court House Room 2, Harrisburg, PA

Bret Grote (ALC), Pam Africa (ICFFMAJ) Mumia’s brother Keith Cook, Mumia’s nephew Wayne Alexander, Ashley Henderson & Nikki Grant (ALP), & Patricia Vickers (HRC & Editor of the Movement Magazine).

Our lawsuit will prevent the state from silencing Mumia and all PA prisoners. Bret Grote (Abolitionist Law Center), Nikki Grant & Ashley Henderson (Amistad Law Project), and David Shapiro of the MacArthur Justice Center will be vigorously arguing for our ability to hear the voices of prisoners and our Pennsylvania correspondents‘ ability to speak and report from inside prison. Join us in the courtroom.

With your help funding our legal battle thus far, we’ve been able to win the right to a trial. With your support we’ve funneled resources into this legal battle and compensated the legal team.

Now, please consider pitching in once more, even $25 or $15, to help us continue recording prisoners in PA and across the country at a greater capacity than ever before.

We’ll keep you posted in the coming weeks.

Thank you for being determined to win with us,

Noelle Hanrahan
