At 2015 LaborTech conference at Stanford University Jack Linchuan Qiu Ph.D made a presentation on Digital Working Class Content With Chinese Characteristics. Jack Qiu is professor at the School of Journalism and Communication at Chinese University of Hong Kong.
He discusses how Chinese workers are using communication technology to organize and get their stories out directly to other workers and supporters of the working class. There are over 500 million smart phones in China and the growing use of these phones by workers to support and organize their struggles has significant importance to the world working people. It is also an example of what can be done in other countries around the world.
